As an ongoing activity to raise the standards of local food service to promote the Andaman region as a world-class tourist destination, Ms Mukda Limnukul, Director of the Strategy Division of Community Development Department, presided over the opening of a two-day English-Thai bilingual food training course held on 3-4 November at the Pearl Hotel Phuket. The program included English lessons taught by an expert and a one-day field trip to five village communities to check-in with locals.

Besides sharing essential knowledge and skills, the teacher guided participants on speaking proper English when speaking with tourists to assist local communities participating in this program to welcome tourists and recommend sites to visit within their communities as Phuket anticipates more international arrivals in the coming months.
