We all have different backgrounds, experiences, and thus produce different thoughts and feelings. This exhibition cherishes this thoughtproduce different thoughts and feelings. This exhibition cherishes this thought.”Differences are a fact of nature and a basic principle Ms Biela has embraced all her life, leading to exchange, discussion and possibly changes. “Exchanging ideas, or even criticism, is very important for me. It opens my mind, my ways of thinking. Those are significant input for my art. And thankfully people are not the same.”Voicing differences doesn’t mean dissent for Ms Biela, who views art as a tool to connect people across culture and mindsets. She cherishes the thought of people reacting differently to her art, but is aware that people might be negative about it as well. “Art, like many other things, is very subjective. I do hope people like my work, but if they don’t, then that’s a fact. I accept it.”The exhibition features previously unseen series, such as “Symbols and Figures”, “Rescue-Spirit”, “Melodies” and “Anthropomorphisms”. The pieces are mainly lithographs, ink, mixed media on paper and sculptures, and are on display at PSG Art Gallery, Silpakorn University, from February 9 to February 27, with the opening at 6.30pm on February 11.Elite+ 57
