It is unfortunate that most students in Southeast Asia do not know what they want, or even what they love or hate to do. This can result in a purposeless and unfulfilled life that benefits no one.Healing should be part of the education system, as experiences from the past dictate how we see and react to the world and to fellow human beings. By tackling and solving issues, students can reconnect with themselves, and open their hearts and minds to their environment. According to Ms Rasbash, letting go of issues also lets people understand others better and become more forgiving.Ms Rasbash concluded that education should be a collaboration of teachers and students who contribute and gain equally. When teachers let go of the ego and loosen their control, students participate more and challenge the class with their own ideas, and decide for themselves what and what not to believe and adopt. It is vital that teachers and students develop an “energy of love”, she said, that connects them through mutual respect.
