Most importantly it brings together publishers from around the world who feel a deeply rooted connection to the industry, to books and to their future.The 30th IPA congress will be held in Bangkok from March 24 to 26. What are your expectations and hopes for the event?First of all I should say how much I and many other delegates from all parts of the world are looking forward to spending time together in Bangkok. And we shall be better equipped to run our businesses and have a better understanding of Thailand by the end.We are an English-language magazine that began in Thailand before expanding to other countries.As more of our focus turns to the start of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in late 2015, we’re finding that most of our friends in the region are traditional and conservative publishers. Which speakers at the event might help them explore new opportunities?There is absolutely nothing wrong with being traditional and conservative but I really believe that the opportuni- ties for growth, particularly in Asia, are such that we should be innovating and to some extent taking risks. All our speakers will be addressing the themes of change and adaptation. As Darwin said: “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives.
