Besides, this kind of traditional clothing helps save unnecessary expenses at every event I join.I use Thai cotton for daily use, but Thai silk is rather expensive, so I wear silk only at a special party or event. I learned from my daughter how to use email to send my manuscripts. I found it convenient to write by hand and send it by normal mail or fax. I also have a Facebook page of my own to communicate with writers and friends and another one for my readers. I use the Line application only to communicate with those close to me, otherwise it disturbs my concentration of mindfulness in daily life. When I was president of the ThaiWriters’ A ssociation, I found most new communication media very use- ful, though sometimes I was busy with many meetings and seminars.You found social media useful for helping others?Certainly, because you need to have efficient tools to serve people who need help. However, you have to use it with mindfulness and consideration. Kularb Saipradist, a leader of our Thai writers a century ago, said, “One who was born as a gentleman and wants to help others should practise mindfulness and understand real happiness first.”
