‘Our company model has expanded into two kinds of business, content and media, in order to cover all aspects of the industry’Publishing PCL, shared with Elite+ her company’s tactics in keeping readers and navigating the new digital landscape.How did you get into publishing?I was born in a period when my parents were building up the business, so we were not a well-to-do family. After school, my parents would bring me to their workplace, where I had a chance to observe their jobs every day. Though they never forced me to follow their path, being surrounded by piles of books in my childhood fascinated me. As soon as I graduated I jumped into publishing without any hesitation to try something else. I had continued my master’s degree in marketing and spent two years in the company’s sales department in order to gain basic knowledge about ourcustomers’ habits. Then I carried on the family business after I finished my studies.How did you reposition Amarin as a content provider?Amarin is not just a printing company any more. Our company model has expanded into two kinds of business, content and media, in order to cover all aspects of the industry. At a recent annual company meeting, I created the concept of a total media solution with the “five ons”: on print, online, on air, on the ground and on point of sale.The first “on” refers to our back- ground in publishing, including books and magazines, which still play a significant role in our business. The other four correspond to the diversification of media. While “online”represents our website and social media, allowing us to connect with millions of people on the internet, “on air” is for the Amarin HD 34 channel, new on the digital TV scene. “On the ground” represents six popular events and exhibitions under the Amarin group that cover almost every segment of our target customers, such as the “Baan Lae Suan Fair”, the “Health Cuisine and Baby Festival” and the “Baby and Kids Fair”.“On point of sale” is for our unique strategy of selling products. As we know, the main goal of advertising and marketing is to boost sales, so we’ve increased the number of Amarin book- shops to more than 200 around the country, and we also offer readers the alternative of buying products online from Naiin.com.
