Phoyao Governor : Narongsak Osotthanakorn The Delegator Who Saved Lives

Welcome to the new issue. We are excited to present an exclusive interview with the new governor of Phayao Province in northern Thailand, Narongsak Osotthanakorn. He shot to international fame last year during the successful rescue of a youth football team in Tham Luang Cave in Chiang Rai. In a wide-ranging interview, the governor discusses the rescue and his plans for developing Phayao Province.

Also in this issue we have a profile of one of Thailand’s most popular authors, Pongpol Adireksarn; English readers know him as Paul Adirex, the author many English-language novels, including Pirates of Tarutao.

His Excellency Asim Iftikhar Ahmad speaks about the 70 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Pakistan and how the people of both countries can further strengthen the long-standing friendship.

Dr Andrew Stotz, past president of the CFA Society and a well known financial analyst, has written the first of what will be a column on personal finances, Build Your Wealth; he also appears as a successful entrepreneur in a management feature on CoffeeWorks, a leading B2B coffee roaster and supplier based in Thailand.

Travel and adventure also feature in this issue, as Patricia Kaowthumrong samples frontier luxury in Colorado while Dave Stamboulis wanders the magnificent mountains of the Karakoram range in Pakistan.

To complete the magazine’s cosmopolitan mix, we have an array of art and culture stories for you to enjoy. Philip Jablon travels to Myanmar to talk with photographer Yu Yu Myint Thant about her life and work, and John Clewley joins the Mobile Molam Bus Project on its travels around the Kingdom.

We are very happy to have you all on board for this issue. All of us at Elite+ magazine wish you the very best for the Thai New Year.
