25 Years of Khiri Travel Milestone for a trusted guide through the region

As we venture into our fifth year with Elite+, one thing that I have been trying to maintain is quality and sustainable growth. I informed you in previous issues, as well as on the occasion of our fourth anniversary celebration, that no matter how fast-paced the publishing world becomes and how increasingly challenging it is to keep our magazine running, I will do my utmost to uphold our high quality and high standards to maintain sustainable growth. I do believe that exclusive and well curated quality content will always be in demand, regardless of the platform.

Speaking of sustainable growth, I was truly inspired by a few of our featured personalities in this issue. First and foremost is Willem Neimeijer, founder of Khiri Travel, one of the region’s most revered travel agencies and a pioneer of sustainable tourism. On Khiri Travel’s 25-year milestone, Willem chatted about his keys to success and inspired us with his passion and know-how in the region’s ever evolving tourism industry.

Another businessman I admire is Somsak Amornrattanachaikul, chairman and president of Asian Food, who has taken the helm of his family’s humble seafood business and turned it into an international empire. He kindly opened his home in Pak Chong to welcome us and gave us insights on the seafood industry and tips on how to stay afloat in the volatile business environment for more than 40 years.

This issue is packed with inspirational stories. Last but not least is the lifelong endeavour of an angel that walks among us. We had the honour of interviewing Porntip “Bui” Simon, Miss Universe 1988 and globally renowned philanthropist who founded Angel Wings Founda- tion to equip children from difficult backgrounds with the power of education.

I’m also delighted to announce two new columns. One is “Elite Indulgence”, with the latest tips and trends regarding pampering and relaxation from Bangkok’s top establishments. Another is “The World in Watercolour” by Lalita Rochanakorn, our newest addition to the team. The renowned artist and watercolourist with a traveller’s pulse gives us her views of the world through the whimsical, soothing means of watercolour.

I hope you enjoy reading this issue of Elite+ as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Until next time.
