Message from
HE Ambassador Hala Youssef, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Thailand
On 23 July, the Arab Republic of Egypt proudly celebrates its National Day, commemorating the Revolution of 1952 that laid the foundation for Egypt’s modern republic. This pivotal moment in our national history marks Egypt’s path toward sovereignty, reform and social progress—anchored in values of independence, dignity and unity.
Today, Egypt stands as a cradle of civilization, with over 7,000 years of enduring heritage, innovation and cultural influence. From the ancient pyramids and majestic Nile to a vibrant society shaping the future through education, technology and diplomacy, Egypt continues to bridge past and present with pride and purpose.
In Thailand, we mark this day not only as a celebration of our national identity, but also as an opportunity to reflect on the strong and growing friendship between Egypt and the Kingdom of Thailand. For over seven decades, our two nations have cultivated meaningful cooperation in various domains that have made our bilateral cooperation stronger and brought both our peoples closer.
Political coordination has continued to flourish and gain momentum with a successful bilateral political consultation that took place in Cairo in April 2025. On the education cooperation front, Egypt continues to be a study hub for more than 3000 Thai students, particularly in Al-Azhar University, while Egyptians continue to appreciate the warmth and hospitality of Thai people and culture through tourism.
At the economic frontier, engagements continue to expand to untap new horizons of cooperation and fruitful partnership between both countries. Last December, together we reached a momentous milestone with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the Thailand-Egypt Joint Trade Committee (JTC) and a joint action plan for economic cooperation, a remarkable step that boosts economic relations in areas of trade and investment, agriculture, clustering and industrial zones, tourism and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well enhancing the opportunity for business-to-business cooperation and partnership.
As the Egyptian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, I am deeply honoured to witness the shared values of peace, mutual respect and cooperation that bind our two nations and peoples. In an ever-changing world, these principles remain vital in building resilient and forward-looking partnerships.
On this special occasion, I extend my warmest greetings to the Egyptian community in Thailand and to our Thai friends who join us in celebrating this historic day. May the bonds between Egypt and Thailand continue to flourish in friendship and mutual understanding.
