Message from the Ambassador of Kuwait to Thailand
on the 63rd Kuwait National Day and 33rd Liberation Day
25 February 2024
This year marks the 63rd National Day and 33rd Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait, which are celebrated on the 26th of February each year. The National Day commemorates the creation of Kuwait as a nation when Emir Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Al Sabah, the 11th ruler of of Kuwait signed the Declaration of Independence with the British High Commissioner, Sir George Middleton, in 1961, whereas Liberation Day marks the end of the Iraqi invasion and occupation that led to the 1991 Gulf War.
Whilst this is a day of remembrance, it is also a day of celebration, and as the ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Thailand, I am honoured to lead today’s celebrations here on behalf of myself, my colleagues and the Kuwaiti nation. I would also like to express our appreciation to His Majesty the King and all members of the Thai Royal family, the Government of Thailand and the Thai community for befriending and strengthening the relationship between our two countries. The progress and achievements we have built throughout the years are very recognizable and inspiring.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude and extend my wishes for further and future progress between our two countries. We look forward to further establishing and enhancing our relationship to the benefit of our countries and peoples.
