To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between Argentina and Thailand, an Argentine Culinary Demonstration by the renowned Argentine Chef Patricia Courtois was recently organised by the Embassy of Argentina in Thailand, in collaboration with Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary Arts School and Rutini Wines, at Le Cordon Bleu Dusit, Central World.
Patricia Courtois, an Argentine Chef recognized as a leader in identity-based and sustainable gastronomy, has 30-years-experience in the field. In 2023, Chef Patricia was designated as an “Argentine Country Brand Ambassador” for her contribution to federal cuisine and the promotion of Argentine traditions. The purpose of this Argentine Culinary Demonstration was to show the uniqueness of Argentine cuisine.

The event was opened by Mr Jeremy Laurent, the Joint Venture Managing Director of Le Cordon Bleu Dusit, followed by Mr Javier De Cicco, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Argentina. Chef Patricia then took guests on a culinary tour across the different Argentine regions by showing them how to cook four dishes: Meat Empanadas (Buenos Aires and Central Argentina), Mbeju and Cured Meat with Chimichurri sauce (the Northern Region) and Shrimp in Fresh Corn Sauce (the Patagonia in southern Argentina).

Mr Juan Pablo Volken, Head of the Economic Section of the Embassy, explained that a few key sponsors, Don Asado Argentine Steakhouse (beef), CP Uoriki (red shrimps) and Rutini Wines, played pivotal roles for the success of the event, providing authentic Argentine ingredients.
Another popular Argentine beverage featured in the Argentine Culinary Demonstration was Mate Cocido, a hot tea brewed with yerba mate. It was sponsored by Latino Secrets, which imports two brands from Argentina, Verdeflor and Rosamonte.

To complete the meal, Chef Patricia explained how to prepare Rogel Alfajor, a layered pancake filled with Dulce de Leche, an iconic caramel spread which is traditionally prepared with milk, sugar, a little vanilla and a little baking soda that can be found in almost every Argentine dessert. For this event, Dulce de Leche from San Ignacio, a leader in the Dulce de Leche industry, was sponsored by Del Plata, a Vietnam-based Argentine importer and trader of Argentine signature products.
