Federation of Indian Industry Visits Thailand
By Kathleen Pokrud
The Indian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (ITCC) recently welcomed a visiting delegation of the Federation of Indian Industry (FII) to Thailand. The delegation came with a mission, with the theme, "Beyond Borders: Gateway to Growth”, which marked a significant milestone in India–Thailand cooperation in trade, investment and economic relations.

As countries navigate the global landscape of 2026, FII aims to transform the geographical proximity of India into a strategic, high-value economic corridor. This delegation comprised 20 industry leaders in pharmaceuticals, real estate, jewelry and plastics.

In pharmaceuticals, FII seeks to integrate India's manufacturing strength with Thailand's world-class healthcare delivery. In real estate, the delegation exchanged expertise in smart-city development and luxury wellness. The jewelry trade leaders aimed to combine Thailand's gemstone artistry with India's diamond hub status to lead the global luxury market. Importantly, the plastic masterbatch manufacturers were here to tap into Thailand's petrochemical prowess. As Thailand leads ASEAN's transition toward electric vehicles and sustainable packaging, the members provided essential high-tech additives for this green revolution.

By leveraging the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and the UPI-PromptPay digital bridge, the collaborations aim to enable "frictionless" trade that moves at the speed of the digital age. FII considers Thailand as an indispensable launchpad into the 670-million-strong ASEAN market. This visit was the foundation for large Investment deals, where the parties moved from dialogue to large-scale implementation.

The Federation of Indian Industry was founded in India and has been strengthened by 62 country chapters across the globe, 22 chapters in India and 25 sectoral committees.
