Three Thai Beaches Ranked Among The Top 100 Beaches Globally

Who doesn’t want to go to the beach? If you want to visit the best beaches in the world, it’s worth checking out the top 100 beach rankings recently compiled by BeachAtlas, a London-based startup that specializes in world beaches.

In this year’s list, as voted by 43 travel experts and influencers from around the globe, the best beach goes to French Polynesia’s Bora Bora securing the number one spot, followed by South Africa’s Boulder Beach and Hawaii’s Waikiki Beach.

This year’s list sees three of Thailand's beaches reaching high on this list: Maya Bay in Krabi province coming in 5th; Pattaya Beach, ranked at 12th position, and Railay Beach West in Krabi listed at 66th.

“I’d say Thailand’s beaches truly offer a cinematic escape. What's remarkable is the range you encounter—from secluded paradises that you can only reach by boat to the vibrant shores that are alive with activity both day and night. There's this beautiful blend of natural beauty and cultural richness that makes every visit feel like a unique adventure,” Davor Pavic, spokesperson of BeachAtlas told Elite+.

Beyond the criteria of the classic beauty of the beaches, BeachAtlas also considers their selections based on factors such as DEI (Diversity, Equality, Inclusion), natural diversity, party and lifestyle, community and cultural significance.

Maya Bay, for instance, is selected as one of the top beaches due to its clear blue waters, dramatic cliffs and beautiful white sand, popularized by“The Beach '' Hollywood blockbuster and Leonardo DiCaprio, while Pattaya Beach is chosen for its vibrant environment with the presence of street food and nightlife making the 4-kilometer stretch become unforgettable experiences for beach-goers.

Krabi’s Railay Beach West, although considered mainstream for beach lovers, is selected as it continues to showcase stunning limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters and soft white sand that attracts millions of locals and tourists to this destination every year.
