The "Future Chef of the World 2024" initiative, aimed at contributing to the advancement of the culinary industry's future in Thailand, has been established to award 5 culinary education scholarships valued at over 1.8 million baht in total. The initiative is a collaborative effort of 3 institutes: ‘The Food School Bangkok,’ a leading international culinary school located in the heart of Bangkok under ‘Dusit Thani International’; ‘Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation Company Limited,’ Thailand's major sugar producer and the world's third-largest company; and ‘Betagro Public Company Limited’, a leading integrated food company in Thailand dedicated to enhancing the quality of life through sustainable food solutions.
In January this year, the ‘Future Chef of the World 2024’ initiative welcomed aspiring chefs all over the country to showcase their culinary finesse through video submissions for their abilities and determination to be evaluated. After a rigorous selection process, 15 outstanding individuals were chosen to partake in a culinary competition at The Food School Bangkok according to the tasks set by the chef instructors, aiming to identify the most well-rounded winner, taking into consideration not only their cooking skills but also their creativity, presentation prowess and personal flair. Amidst the intense atmosphere of competition, each contestant also received invaluable feedback from esteemed judges to propel them forward towards personal growth and culinary excellence.
Subsequently, in June 2024, the project organizers unveiled the names of the five esteemed individuals selected to receive full scholarships for the Certificated Courses in Culinary and Bakery Arts at The Food School Bangkok, valued at over 1.8 million baht in total. The five scholarship recipients were Supisara Kitwattanachai, Phetcharaphon Lapcharassangroj, Marisa Chaiyarak, Natapong Jupatanakul and Peerawich Pothiwong. Through the sponsorship, this pivotal opportunity will not only nurture their culinary skills but also propel them forward in the culinary industry and equip them with the means to bring about innovation in the culinary arts, contributing to the continual development of the Thai food industry.
